Well, look at that... I had a special Bible to giveaway this week for my bloggy readers, and I just happened to find out that it's time for the semi-annual Bloggy Giveaway Carnival.
How fun is that? So, if you're new to this blog, enter the giveaway (see details farther down) and then poke around a bit. The "best of the best" is over there, down to the right. I encourage you to read a few of those posts to get to know me. I'm a Christian, who loves to defend my faith and help others find their way to Christ. I also like to review books, find new restaurants and debate controversial topics. I love my readers, and welcome you to share your thoughts and comments.
So now... here's the prize! For the Bloggy Giveaway Carnival I am giving away a burgundy, faux-leather Thomas Kinkade family keepsake Bible. This thing is gorgeous. Check out some photos of it:

It's so gorgeous. It's the kind of Bible that one keeps in the family for many generations. There's a place to record births, deaths and marriages. There are full color photos of Thomas Kinkade paintings. It's just too cool.
To win, simply leave a comment with your contact info. I'll pay for priority-mail shipping, but contest is open to U.S. residents only (sorry, international friends!). In the mean time, my blog will be on hiatus for a week to promote this giveaway. The winner will be announced on Saturday, April 26th. You don't have to be a blogger to enter -- just be sure to leave me an email address so that I can contact you. And if you don't win... don't fret! I hold my own personal Bible giveaway every other Sunday.
Thanks for stopping by! Can't wait to hear from you...
Have a great week and good luck!
~Maria
TIME'S UP! Any entries and new comments added beyond this point (there are exactly 100 comments) will not be eligible.

There are some giveaways that I enter knowing that there would be a decision to make if I won. Sometimes a hard decision... like should I give this to my brother as a wedding gift (I think it would be a fabulous one!) or keep it for myself?? Hmmm...
How neat that you have Bible giveaways! That is wonderful.
Thank you for the chance to win!

Thomas Kinkade has some gorgeous work doesn't he. I have a really cool Irish Santa that he did, just gorgeous.
I have to admit I have never read the Bible before. I have thought about it at various times. I was going to purchase one last summer with the extra money I had but things came up. I grew up in a non religious family and would love to have the chance to read it.

How beautiful! It occurs to me that we don't have a family Bible. We've been married 22 years and of course we all have our personal Bibles... but a family Bible would be a very special treasure. Thank you for the generous giveaway.
Wow, what a beautiful & special giveaway. I always pull out the family Bible at my grandmother's house - not only did she record all the important events, but she tucked newspaper clippings and cards in between the pages, too, so I get to see my parents' engagement announcement, my aunts & uncles pictures in the paper for the honor roll.... My husband and I don't have a special Family Bible yet, but we would love to start that tradition too!
Oh, those are so cute! I have a wall of family pictures in our playroom/TV room -- I'd get a black frame with a tan background, and our last name, to go right in the top center of that wall!
You do beautiful work - thanks for the chance to win!

Welcome Readers!
The early parts of my blog are just an average, 30-something girl's thoughts, opinions and dreams. I wrote about my new hubby, about my home, about friends and family, about love and the ups/downs of life. I wrote poetry, reviewed movies and discovered new restaurants.
But then something changed -- I became a Christian. It's funny how it happened so quickly and so drastically. One month I was an atheist (and before that I was a Muslim), debating with my husband on how science made sense over God. The next month I was on my knees in prayer, asking God for forgiveness and accepting the grace of salvation of Jesus Christ. It was very humbling...
Right now, I am here to show the world that salvation exists in one form and one form only -- Believing in Christ. If you died tomorrow... or if the world ended next week... what is waiting for you upon your death? Are you holding a one-way ticket to the Kingdom of Heaven? If you don't believe that Christ saved you from sin, then you don't have that ticket.
If that's the case, stick around. Hopefully we'll still have enough time to change your destination...
