Exponential Times

Posted

I know many have asked where I've been lately, or how come I haven't been posting. The answer to that is, "I honestly have no idea." Something's coming, something's happening, and I just don't know what it is. Remember Star Wars, when the Jedi could feel a disturbance in the force? It kinda feels like that. Maybe I'm going nuts and I'm completely going crazy. But I don't think so. I think that things/events are propelling forward at such a fast pace to the end times. The news on TV and radio about the economy is blowing my mind. World relationships are so precarious and unstable at the moment. Who would ever have thought that peaceful, sunny, relaxing Mexico would be turning into a massive hot spot of volatility? Or that we'd have over 45,000 troops in Afghanistan? Or that Hillary Clinton would be over in China begging them to continue to invest in U.S. Treasuries?

Or take technology, for example. It is positively astounding to me just how fast technology keeps advancing. I just got an iPhone last week, and am blown away by it. I couldn't help but to think back to the telephones my grandparents used. Sure, they might have varied in color and/or style, but for the most part, telephones hadn't changed much between the 1920s/30s right on up through the 1970s. That's a 50 year span. But now I think about the cell phone I had just FIVE years ago, and it makes me laugh. It seems so antiquated compared to this new iPhone. Just imagine what cell phones will be like in another five years. Or, if we look at the other example I gave, just imagine what phones will be like in 50 years. I don't think we can!!! And I honestly don't think we'll be around here that long.

We are living in exponential times. Things are turning over and advancing faster than we can even imagine. If people want to know something, they Google it and get the answer in 1.2 seconds. If we want to talk to someone on the other side of the world, we do that instantly as if we were talking to a person next door. We can use Skype to chat with people face to face in real-time, no matter where we might be. If we want to visit a foreign country, we hop on a plane and get there in no more than 12-14 hours.

Young kids nowadays know more than even our smartest ancestors ever could've imagined knowing. Socrates would've been blown away by an average eight year-old child today. Jobs... technology... information... travel... communications... politics... it's all moving so fast and so hard at such a frenzied pace.

If you're still not impressed, watch this video:

"So what does it all mean?"

I can only think of one thing, and I'm going to deviate from the New International Translation to bring this to you in the old words of our Biblical prophets:

Daniel 12

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and swear by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

For those who are Christian and devoted to their faith, I say to you this: Watch the signs... be still... hear God and recognize the turbulence. Satan is getting ready to put on his biggest and best show yet, and God will step in and intervene for His children as mentioned in Daniel 12. It is SO important for us to remain watchful and faithful.

Jesus said in Matthew 24:12-14, "Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."

He also went on to say, "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

"Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, 'My master is staying away a long time,' and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
(Matthew 24:33-51)

Translation: Be on your guard, and look for the signs. Stay close to God, and keep your relationship strong with Him. Do not slip up, and get lax, falling into Satan's trap. Always be watching, and make sure that when the end does come, you're found clean and pure because of your strong faith in Christ.

For those who aren't Christians and who are reading this and have just watched that You Tube video, let me explain it to you in terms of "science." Newton's Third Law of Motion states that "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." The statement means that in every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects. The size of the forces on the first object equals the size of the force on the second object. The direction of the force on the first object is opposite to the direction of the force on the second object. Forces always come in pairs - equal and opposite action-reaction force pairs.

This isn't just about objects -- it's about everything in life. The economy cannot expand to great heights, making lots of money on Wall Street and in the real estate market without it all contracting again at some point. What goes up, must come down. Throughout all of mankind the forces always came in pairs: up/down... fast/slow... hard/soft... good/evil... After life, there is always death. Life on earth will reach a crescendo, and then it will end.

But it won't end in darkness or uncertainty. We KNOW the ending to this story, and I can see the twigs getting tender and the leaves beginning to sprout. My dear sisters and brothers, there is no need to stop life and go in a different direction. Simply take the time to pray, read the Scriptures, go to Church, love those around you and prepare your body, soul and family for what lies ahead. Do not be afraid...

God assures us that we will be taken care of. We will have eternity with Him for our love and faith in Christ. John, on the Island of Patmos, received a visit from Jesus, who gave him a vision of what was to come.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
(Revelation 21:1-7)

Jesus himself said at the very end of the Bible:

"Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book."

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book. Worship God!"

Then he told me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near. Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy."

"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

"Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."

The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon."
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen.
(Revelation 22:7-21)

That video was amazing. I'm only 46 and the amount of technology that has changed in my lifetime is staggering. I took FORTRAN - have you heard of FORTRAN - when I was college. It was the "language" of the early computers. We had to write programs and put them on comment cards to make the computers do what we wanted. I wasn't very good at it. Fortunately, that fell by the wayside before I ever touched a computer. I used to really dial phones when I was a little girl. And when the number popped up about how many babies were born in the US during that presentation, all I could think about was how many were killed?

I, too, am watching that fig tree and ready, so ready, for the harvest!
