So I have a Facebook account where I am connected to family, close friends, co-workers and past classmates. Right now I have about 180 friends, and I think maybe 8 in all are true, strong Christians. Isn't that something? If I stretch it, the number might be 10.

I think it's a fantastic way to connect and stay connected. It's the perfect place to chat... send out messages... talk about certain topics... and reach out to those who aren't geographically close to you. The problem is, right now everyone seems to be chatting about TV shows: Dancing With the Stars, The Bachelor, Brothers and Sisters, and even sports.

Now there's nothing wrong with that, but after constant banter about these subjects day in and day out, I cannot help but to think, "WHAT in the heck???" I mean, don't these people see what's happening to the economy? Don't they understand the calamity that we're headed for? Do they not think that there's anything better to talk about than the weekly reality shows? It just breaks my heart.

Jesus must be up there in Heaven, shaking his head at our country. It's all so superficial. It's about TV shows and swimsuit season and March Madness squares and the latest Hollywood scandal. Where's the depth? Where's the passion? Where's the righteousness and humbleness? Where are the people discussing God and discerning prophecy? Where are the people of Christ, and why aren't they discussing scripture? Is it just me who understands that this life is fleeting?

Recently, our church pastor described it like this: Think of your life as a little speck -- a little dot the size of a flea -- on a fishing line that stretches from Los Angeles to New York. And in all reality, that analogy is probably more accurate if you say a flea on a fishing line from Mercury to Pluto. Our lives are just a speck on the plane of eternity. And we're going to spend it talking about "The Bachelor?"

I might have only a few regular readers on this blog, but I have a lot of people who stop by who found me by Googling something. I know this because I can see it in my behind the scenes tracker. I don't know who you are, or what you think. But I'm going to ask you something. If you're a Christian, and you believe and agree with the things I write, Facebook me. Leave me a comment with your name and/or how to find you on Facebook, and let's be friends. I need more Christians in my group. I'm tired of leaving status messages about my Bible studies or Christ or God or the economy because no one is listening. I need support. I need people to chat with me, talk with me, engage me. I want those 170 other friends to witness real conversation about God/Christ/Prophecy.

I've had enough of sitting back and watching the sitcom/reality show viewers steal the show. It's my turn. And I'd love nothing more than to knock their socks off.

"Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
(Mark 8:34)

So in the name of Christ (and NOT Jerry McGuire), I ask: "Who's with me?????"
